Help us bridge the gap between medical discharge and emotional support after pregnancy loss
Still With Us is a community-based support initiative providing OT-informed grief support resources for individuals and families experiencing miscarriage and pregnancy loss. Rooted in the belief that care should extend beyond medical moments, our mission is to offer comfort, connection, and meaningful, occupation-based resources that support identity, roles, and daily life after loss.

Rielly Shoemaker is a registered occupational therapist and the founder of Still With Us, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing pregnancy loss.
She graduated from Davenport University in 2022 and began her professional work in pediatric occupational therapy, where she supported children and families in building skills for daily life, development, and participation in meaningful routines.
Alongside her clinical work, Rielly always held a strong desire to become a mother. After experiencing a deeply anticipated pregnancy that ended in first-trimester miscarriage, she and her husband were confronted with a loss that felt both unexpected and profoundly isolating. Like many families, they were unaware of how common pregnancy loss is—impacting approximately one in four women—and how often it remains a silent experience without adequate immediate support.
Following time away from clinical practice and the birth of her child in August 2025, Rielly felt called to combine her professional training with her lived experience to address a gap in care. She recognized that while medical management of pregnancy loss exists, there is often limited structured emotional and functional support for navigating the days, weeks, and identity shifts that follow.
This led to the creation of Still With Us, a nonprofit designed to provide OT-informed support for individuals experiencing pregnancy loss. The organization focuses on helping families rebuild daily routines, process identity changes, and access practical and emotional resources during an otherwise overwhelming time. Still With Us bridges the space between medical diagnosis and real-life recovery, centering occupational therapy principles such as routine, participation, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
Rielly’s work is grounded in the belief that grief deserves structure, support, and recognition—and that no one should have to navigate pregnancy loss alone or without tools for the everyday realities that follow.
